Easy to Use
Parents must have a stroller and car seat combination that is simple to use. These travel systems make it easy to switch between running errands, walking the dog, or going for a run. They also help you keep up with your little one's changing needs, so you can enjoy your family's adventures. Our testers are impressed by how easily and smoothly these travel systems glide, regardless of whether they feature a single front wheel or a swiveling front wheel. The Thule Urban Glide 2 Combo and the BOB Alterrain Pro combo are particularly easy to move however, the Baby Jogger City Mini GT 2 Combo and the BOB Revolution Flex 3.0 Combo can be pushed easily using just one hand.
Certain models are difficult to attach or remove from the base. The Doona Combo, for example requires a two-step attach procedure and straps that are placed over the infant carrier's bottom part. It's tempting to skip these steps, however this could lead to unsafe outcomes.
Some models are more difficult to fold or store than others, making them less convenient. 2in1 travel system FastAction 3-in-1 Car Seat Stroller, for example, is difficult to fold due to its huge dimensions and heavy frame. Some users also find the canopy on this model disappointing. On the other hand the Britax Parkway Click and Go Combo is very easy to fold with pulling the lever and a click of a button. This model is a fantastic choice for parents who want to use their car seat in other people's vehicles, since it can be easily removed from the base.
Easy to Fold
If you're storing your car seat on its own, in the trunk of your car or even in a closet, it should be easy to fold and unfold. The most effective combinations we've tested fold easily with just one hand and are strong enough to be used on long walks. They're also easy to move and glide smoothly over uneven surfaces. Some combos are attached and detached by straps. This could feel like a second step, and can make it harder for parents to secure their car seat properly.
We love the BOB Revolution Flex 3.0 Combo for its convenient features and sturdy construction, which includes a large storage basket that is accessible from the front to the back. SafeCenter LATCH, a unique feature of the BOB Revolution Flex 3.0 Combo allows you to install car seats by connecting the lower anchors and securing the straps.
pushchairs 2 in 1 's also fairly light, making it an excellent option for families or frequent travellers with multiple vehicles. The Baby Jogger City Mini GT 2 Combo and the Thule Urban Glide 2 have also scored well in our tests of ease-of-use. Both have one wheel that's simple to push with one hand. Both have a single front wheel which is easy to push (one-handed!). They also have a movable spinner wheel, ideal for shopping and running errands. The only downside is that they're quite heavy and may be difficult to lift up when carrying a baby in a car seat.
Easy to Assemble
Certain car seat and stroller combinations can be difficult to assemble. We found that the UPPAbaby Cruz v2 Combo was one of the most simple to build, and it comes with a handy quick-start guide which makes putting this system together an easy task. Other models we tried such as the UPPAbaby Minu, UPPAbaby Vista V2 Thule Urban Glide 2 and Baby Trend Snap-N-Go EX Universal, were also fairly easy to put together. Contrary to that, the BOB Revolution Flex 3.0 Combo is difficult to put together as it requires two steps: attaching the lower anchors and using straps that are placed over the bottom of the carrier. It's also very heavy, which means it takes two hands to secure the carrier into the base and detach it from the base.
In our tests, it took around 5 minutes to assemble the UPPAbaby Cruz. This is a quick process when you consider the time saved from not having to rip out each piece. The toddler seat can be slid into and removed with ease on most of these models.
